CASTING

We cast positive editions in wax, hydrocal and other plasters.  Casting can be delivered as rough cast, rough cast with assembly or chased and finalized to match the original image.

  • Rough cast includes removal of flashing and extra material at the seam lines and validation of registration to ensure all seams are lined up properly.
  • Often times a complex image must be sectioned and separate molds made of each section.  Rough cast with assembly includes re-attachment of each section and a patch applied to conceal each connection.
  • A finalized chased image involves clean up of the entire surface to match the original image.

Casting materials are primarily hydrocal and other plasters or wax.  However, custom requests for mateirals not listed will be entertained as presented.

La Machine Elagante' by Stuart Mark Feldman

“I have been a professional sculptor for over thirty years and have used many moldmakers during my career. I have never been as confident in any of them as I am in Stanek Studios to provide the combination of craftsmanship, timeliness and value for my work. They are now my preferred moldmakers and casters. In addition, both Stanek and Levitina-McGeehan are exciting and accomplished sculptors in their own right and should be considered for any sculptural project one might have in mind.”
